CLASSIC MAD DEPT.
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of longtime MAD writer Tom Koch, who died in Laguna Woods, California on March 22. From 1957 to 1995, Tom was one of MAD’s most prolific and funny writers, contributing more than 300 pages to the magazine in his distinctive comedic voice. Perhaps Tom’s most memorable MAD article was “43-Man Squamish” — fifty years after its initial publication, it remains MAD’s most requested reprint. We extend our deepest condolences to Tom’s family. From MAD #95, June 1965
