The recent musical special Sound of Music Live! starring American Idol star Carrie Underwood earned NBC such high ratings that they recently bumped the holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life in order to show the dreadful thing yet again. NBC thinks they’ve hit on a winning formula by pairing classic Broadway musicals with former Idol contestants — but we’re not so sure.
