Ways to Get the Most Out of "Take Your Child to Work Day"

SPARE THE JOB, SPOIL THE CHILD DEPT.

Today is one of America’s most beloved pseudo-holidays, right up there with Root Vegetable Awareness Week: “Take Your Child to Work Day.” In bringing your son or daughter to work today, you’re teaching them the importance of commitment, dedication, and putzing around on eBay. And as long as you’ve got the little monster in the office with you, you might as well make the best of it — and we’re here to help.

Off-Broadway MAD Show Revival This Weekend

This weekend, the York Theatre Company is producing The MAD Show, which was originally produced Off-Broadway in 1966. It has a book by legendary MAD writers Larry Siegel and Stan Hart; lyrics by Marshall Barer and Steven Vinaver; and music by Mary Rodgers (including a song by Stephen Sondheim). The original production featured actors Linda Lavin and Jo Ann Worley. The revival cast will include popular actors and actresses from Broadway and Off-Broadway. (That's them in the photo below.)

The Mad Show is part of York’s Musicals in Mufti Concert Series, in which classic shows from the past are restaged in concert format in street clothes with script-in-hand, without the trappings associated with the original productions. The dates are July 29-31.

To order tickets, call 212-935-5820 or go to www.yorktheatre.org
