Other Indicators That 2012 Was the Hottest Year on Record

SOME DISLIKE IT HOT DEPT.

2012 was the hottest year in the nation’s history! And while that’s not a surprise to anyone who set foot outside in the last 365 days (excluding that loveable shut-in, John Caldwell), there were several other tip-offs that you might have missed.

Other Nude Shots Accidentally Tweeted by Celebs

ALL THE NUDES THAT’S FIT TO PRINT DEPT.

Yesterday, HBO’s The Newsroom picked up a bunch of new 13-year-old fans after actress Alison Pill accidentally posted a topless shot of herself to Twitter. We asked the show’s creator, Aaron Sorkin, to comment — but that was an hour ago, and he’s still walking around our office in circles, talking endlessly about nothing. Worse still, this story is only the latest in an ongoing trend (which, you’ll surely recall, began last September with Scarlett Johansson).

Things You Can Learn from The Learning Channel’s New Show — "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo"

OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO GO DEPT.

Tonight, TLC introduces its newest epic Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo, a gag-inducing spin-off of Toddlers & Tiaras. The show revolves around six-year-old pageant contestant Alana Thompson (Honey Boo-Boo) as she frantically runs into things, squawks with the inflection of a bad Madea impersonator and chugs Go-Go Juice (a child-friendly beverage made by combining Mountain Dew and Red Bull). When they’re not busy sucking the value from society, the Thompson family also enjoys harvesting road kill and throwing rolls of paper towels at each other. Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo (originally titled Greasy Screechy Lumps) certainly holds up to The Learning Channel’s good name and austere mission statement! But it’s not without value! We’re delighted to share…
