EXECUTIVE DERISION DEPT.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and all day long we’ll be marking the occasion by featuring some of MAD’s most famous depictions of our 35th president. First off, we have two covers from The MAD Frontier, a MAD paperback first released in 1962. The title was a spoof of Kennedy’s “New Frontier” speech, while the cover showed a Kennedy-esque Alfred in the President’s signature rocking chair. Following Kennedy’s assassination, however, the cover was promptly replaced with a generic covered wagon gag.
