Groundhog Day

Groundhog day is coming up later this week. This is the day when we hope for an early spring and re-watch one of the greatest movies of all time (“This is pitiful. A thousand people freezing their butts off waiting to worship a rat…”) But I’d like to take a moment this Groundhog Day to pay homage to another fuzzy little fella who likes to burrow in the ground—BOBBY.

Apple Responds to Mistreated Workers’ Allegations with New Ad

Recently, Apple Inc. has come under fire for the labor violations of their suppliers in China. Long hours, unsafe working conditions and a shamefully inconsistent policy on “Casual Fridays” are just some of the complaints being voiced. But Apple, always the nimble marketer, is responding quickly to the situation. Not by improving the conditions, but using the tragic events as an advertising tool.

This fall, DC Entertainment will be releasing THE JUDAS COIN, an original 94-page hardcover graphic novel written and illustrated by industry legend Walter Simonson. THE JUDAS COIN features characters from all across the DC Universe. Today, take an exclusive first look at the book’s cover based on a featured showdown between Batman and Two-Face. “The cover for THE JUDAS COIN was designed and drawn with inspiration provided in part by movie posters from the ‘60s and ‘70s,” Simonson exclusively told THE SOURCE.

Several years ago, after Douglas finished his series TESTAMENT, the heady historical, near futuristic mash-up of the Old Testament, technology, and economic politics, we were talking about his next project for Vertigo.
